well we played folk fest today, it was incredible!!!! we started the day off at a workshop with some incredible acts…check out Little Miss Higgins, Old Man Leudecke, The Fugutives and Rebekah Higgs.
I cried (Karla) it was an emotional moment of a dream realized!
Then we played mainstage tweener, let me say it was beautiful!

so…we were supposed to be seeing the beautiful Quebec city…but we ended up seeing a sign for the World Hockey Championship…ran into some english speaking people…followed them to the arena…fought with scalpers…and ended up buying 5th row centre when they released an extra 1000 five minutes before the puck dropped….phew.

Hey Farm Festonians…my new word for those of us who love Farm Fest!!!
We need volunteers. We have kicked up the festival a notch this year and in order to achieve our dreams we need help!
We are currently looking for volunteers in 2 areas
1. Posters/Promtions
2. Ticket Sales
Here is the deal…..we need folk who will volunteer their time to put up posters and hand out flyers for the festival starting in mid July. We need promo to occur in Winnipeg and any southern MB towns, volunteers will receive a free pass for the festival.
Our hope is that these same volunteers, as well as others will help us sell tickets as well! New this year…if you sell 20 tickets you can get into Farm Fest for free!!!!!!

Karla was invited to collaborate on the Record of the Week Club.
The Record Of The Week Club is a weekly recording session featuring musicians from diverse musical backgrounds. Never knowing who their co-creators will be — an incognito and disparate group of musicians meet at MCM Studios in Winnipeg, Canada every Wednesday evening. Over the course of one evening they are charged with the task of getting to know each other, arranging, rehearsing and recording a piece under the guidance of Mike Petkau. The song is immediately mixed and uploaded and made available for download that same night.
Last night Karla was paired up with autoharp songstress Demetra Penner and Rusty Matyas from the Waking Eyes! The crew took one of Rusty’s songs and pulled it back into an ethereal jazzy frock, listen/download the song here! http://www.recordoftheweekclub.com/downloads.php
